The first week of finals for the Reds was at Campbelltown Oval on Saturday and we came away with two wins from 3 games. The A Grade bounced back from a disappointing end to the minor round to book a spot against Minor Premier Payneham NU next week. The winner of that game will be the first team into the Division 1 Grand Final.
Tom Bartlett was at his creative best up forward kicking 4 goals while Ollie Collison did a crucial tagging job and was best on ground for the Reds!
It was a tough contest all day and in the end the Reds held on for a memorable 9 point win on a ground where we have not won too many games over the years.
The B Grade kept their season alive with a close win in the Elimination Final with Port District. A 35 point ¾ time lead disappeared in the last quarter with Port District kicking with a strong breeze. The side held on though with Brendan Papps kicking the sealer with 2 minutes on the clock.
The C Grade could not repeat their Round 18 victory over Goodwood but have a second chance next week. They will come up against Adelaide University.
All games next week will be at Payneham Oval.
